DRY LAND

Dry land..that was what came to mind as I clicked on my camera to capture images of the dormant trees.

I literally had the image before me. The image of some dried-up trees which I had even assumed to be dead versus the image I could not see and capture with my camera but know was happening behind the scenes and which would ultimately ensure that the trees spring back to life.

This reminded me of a typical scenario of dealing with the fact versus truth. There sure is a difference between these two. The fact before me was that the trees were dormant and dried while the truth was that the trees, thanks to direct sunlight and chlorophyll were eventually going to come back to live at the right season.

As I reflected on this, I thought about life and some of my struggles between the things I can see versus the things I cannot see. How the things I see sometimes wants to convince me that that is all there is to life but just as I believe the fact in the things I can see, feel, touch, smell, and hear, I also believe in the truth of the things I can’t describe with my five senses but sure exist.

I believe in friendship, commitment, love, good morals, medicine, scientific advancement, beauty, good food, looking and smelling good..the list is endless just as I equally believe in mercy, grace, favor, healing, faith, prophecies and inasmuch as we place so much emphasis on the things we can see, let’s not lose sight of that which we cannot and yet see.

If you have the medical fact of an ailment by virtue of the symptoms and diagnosis exhibited, perhaps there is some truth also. If you flunked an examination by virtue of the result you received, maybe there is also some truth which could be that you have everything it takes to pass this examination and so maybe you give it another shot. If you are broke and your bank account is in red, maybe that's just some truth and not the entire fact to your existence.

The things we can see versus the things we are yet to see or can’t see! Are you basing your all on some truth or the fact? What is the truth?
